yogic death 2: electric boogaloo

today in yoga we tried a different brand of yoga. we normally do hatha yoga, but today she wanted to introduce us to a new form. it was called darjeeling root canal or something similar... i couldn't really hear her over the gale-force jet-engine air conditioner they have in their gym. really, all it was, was instead of stretching, was shaking or moving your torso in circles while sitting on the groud. i.e. make braeden feel silly and want to throw up. but then we got into our normal routine. guess what... I TOUCHED MY TOES FOR THE FIRST TIME TONIGHT! HUZZAH! that was my goal for the class once i started.
yeah, so tonight also, we did new leg stretchy things while on the ground. you want to do it? ok! lie on your back. bring your right knee up to your chest. now grab your big toe and straighten you leg all the way out. now start doing crunches. then release and do the other leg. "ok, but how about instead. since i can't physically stretch my leg that far, much less reach my toe and still lie on my back, and when i try, it feels like someone is sawing the back of my knee with a knife, i only go, say, half-way, and then i won't scream at you in agony. yeah, thanks, that would be greeaatt." that's my new goal. be able to straighten my leg all the way without massive pain and/or muscle spasms that i have now.
spasm is a fun word.
so then after it was all over, she decided to give us a heads up that next week we were going to be singing. singing!?! what does one sing in yoga? we'll all have to wait a week and find out. the suspense is killing me. (i'll probably forget by tomorrow). if its campfire songs, she better bust out some s'mores, or i'm walking.
oh and guess what. its raining as i leave. which normally would be good, but it was cold and i was wearing shorts, t-shirt, and flip flops. and its still october, so i couldn't sing "november rain" by guns 'n' roses. i am grateful that my heater works very very well. once i got in the warmth and i stopped shivering, i was glad it was raining.
and so here i am now, listening to my psychedelic music mix. i think i grew up in the wrong decade. i would have loved to have been in the 60's and 70's... *sigh* oh well. tomorrow is a new day. and i must rest now. bye!
